ABOUT SAUNCEY WOOD 

Sauncey Wood Primary School is set on a very spacious site to the east of Harpenden.  The school has 8 classrooms, all equipped with interactive whiteboards, a very large hall with a stage, library, dining area and music room. There is a breakfast club before school and our children have access to an after school club which is run by Apex. One of the classrooms is used as our Speech, Language and Communication Needs Base.  Our grounds include a large playing field, netball court, 2 hard play areas with an activity trail and a woodland walk which is used for outdoor learning and Forest School.  We also have an all weather running track used for our 'Daily Mile' and an outdoor Gym.  The Foundation Stage has an all weather outdoor area with a climbing frame. We have a school garden where we grow fruit and Veg which we are planning to further develop.
 

Our latest Ofsted report, in June 2018 confirmed our status as a 'Good' school.   In addition to the ParentView questionnaire reviewed by Ofsted we carry out our own annual questionnaire.  In our 2022 results our parents and carers have made comments such as "Outstanding school with amazing teachers. Couldn’t be happier", "The school is a Hidden gem in Harpenden." I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Sauncey Wood, My daughter is thoroughly enjoying her time here."
